Here is the second half of the Jarvis entity's 'Redemption' speech.
The response to the first half was, as expected, divided.
There are those who believe Jarvis is selling a religion, not surprising considering the elevated ideals he is floating: 'Destiny,' 'Manifesting in the Ultimate,' 'Purity' and 'Truth.'
Some among you have accused me of asking pointed questions, of shaping the discussion. Perhaps you are correct, but it's in my nature to question things: I ask tougher questions when what is being sold sounds too good to be true.
In the second half of his speech, Jarvis explains how the physical state created by visiting and absorbing the Portals and their energy is a pathway that allows us to 'manifest in the Ultimate,' not just ourselves, but as a species.
The hard questions remain to be asked: What evidence is there for what he promises? I have heard many Resistance agents describe a similar sense of awe and calm as they visited portals. Does that make them Enlightened? Have they been shaped from the outside in? Jarvis claims the door to Enlightenment is one that opens from the inside? What, then, was Operation #Cassandra?
Again, I apologize to the Enlightened members of this Investigative community for asking the hard questions, but the fact is, true or false, it would be unwise to not ask those questions.

Why did Susanna Moyer help Oliver Lynton-Wolfe escape to Buenos Aires?
Light is shed on this controversial subject in a transcript obtained from +Hulong Transglobal today.
Lynton-Wolfe, it seems, plans to somehow leverage what may have been a World War II era project exploring what is now known as Exotic Matter in his bid to destroy the Shards of the Jarvis XM Entity.
Susanna Moyer's role in all this grows thicker by the day. It seems now that her father, a figure about whom very little is known, may be involved as well.
Why does Susanna Moyer have a stake in the destruction of the Jarvis Entity? What do we know about her past and her father? And this strange, so called 'Wunderwaffe' project? Is it a myth, a rumor or a deeply buried truth?

Could Susanna Moyer be harboring buried family secrets, without even knowing it?
In the Hulong transcript obtained yesterday, Dr. Oliver Lynton-Wolfe advised Susanna Moyer to press her father for answers.
From what is known, Nigel Moyer may have been a cryptanalyst or researcher for the British during the Cold War era, but many questions remain to be answered.
How long has XM or some form of XM been hiding in secret as a tool in human conflict? Nigel Moyer refers to an incident from Susanna's past as 'a gift?' What might have that been? And as for Dreizehn Große… #13MAGNUS… What is it, really? Ancient cult? Classified Cold-War effort? Are the threads separate or connected in linear time, and how do Jarvis, Osiris, XM, the Portals and the Shapers all fit into it?

The next #13MAGNUS Anomaly approaches. Will +Hank Johnson find what he's looking for?
All eyes turn to the sites of the Primary Anomalies, Phoenix and Rome, and the secondary vectors in Athens, Istanbul, Tucson and Nashville. Each of these locations will be at the heart of conflict with global implications tomorrow. The Faction that controls the majority of the sites, or failing that, the Anomaly overall, may impact the manifestation of the final Shard in #13MAGNUS, the last fragment of XM Entity Roland Jarvis.
But there's more at stake, it seems. Hank Johnson, ever in pursuit of that half-imagined, half true thing called myth, believes that the final clue leading him to uncover the secret behind #13MAGNUS, the Osiris Myth and its current day counterpart may be uncovered as well.
Hank believes that #13MAGNUS may have generated pursuers. I wonder if the evidence before us supports that theory, not only with the pieces that have assembled at the periphery, such as Nigel Moyer, Dreizehn Große and more, but with those at the center, Oliver Lynton-Wolfe and Roland Jarvis. If the pursuers catch up, will they erase the evidence, as they apparently did in Arecibo? Where will that leave those trapped in the flux of these events? Where will that leave us?

Will you survive this moment, +Devra Bogdanovich?
The activity of today's vector of Operation #13MAGNUS have culminated in a Resistance victory.
As Reckoning Day approaches, both Factions are entwined in a race to move the Shards of Roland Jarvis towards their destiny. The 13th and Final shard is expected to manifest in the Portal Network as a result of today's events.
The fate of the Jarvis Entity is not all that hangs in the balance. This +IQTech Research document, obtained today, shows the cost that XM Researcher and occasional independent thinker may have to bear as the cost of her betrayal of the European Technology corporation +Visur Technology.
The question is, what does it mean to be Ilya Pevtsov's enemy? Do we believe he would resort to violence, and if so, does Devra have the resourcefulness, having burned so many bridges, to survive that threat? Is she trapped, or does she have a way out? And finally, what might the Jörmungandr be, and how is Yuri Alaric Nagassa connected?
As Operation #13MAGNUS enters its final week, I wish the Agents who have tasked themselves with carrying this massive responsibility on their shoulders good luck.

Who stole the corpse of Jarvis?
This BOLO, sent to me today, appears to have originated from the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.
According to the document, the corpse, held there since it was extracted from the former Niantic Project facility in Geneva, has gone missing.
The details of how the body disappeared are not apparent. The motivation of the group behind the incident are also unknown.
Why has this happened? Is the goal of the group behind this to support or prevent the rebirth of the Jarvis XM Entity? Who would have to resources to pull something like this off? Do you think it was a corporate or government interest, or as the BOLO describes, a group of Factional extremists?
Less than a week remains until Reckoning Day, and each day, the stakes seem to rise.

Who holds the key to the past?
Following new revelations this week, some believed that +Yuri Alaric Nagassa, an Astrophysicist who grew up in the company of an uncontacted tribe in South America, may have been Dr. Oliver Lynton-Wolfe's source of information into the Dark XM stockpile in Buenos Aires.
The former Niantic Project member denies the allegations in a post on his Google+ profile.
Who then, controls the key to the past? Who would be in a position to know about all these buried secrets? And why are they helping Oliver Lynton-Wolfe attempt to destroy Roland Jarvis?

What paths will emerge after #13MAGNUS ends?
It's been a week filled with Journeys. Yesterday four massive links tore across the Pacific, linking Hawaii to California. A ruse. Four Shards journeyed earlier to Cupid's Span in San Francisco directly from Russia. Moments ago, a massive Resistance Link was created across the Atlantic, presumably a transport link for a Shard destined for Buenos Aires.
Lynton-Wolfe travelled to Buenos Aires to exploit a WWII project that may have been abandoned there, brought there on a submarine filled with gold and secrets.
Hank Johnson made this way to Phoenix, seeking a clue to guide him to his true destination: a #13MAGNUS sanctum.
In the aftermath of the December 7th Anomalies, members of the victorious factions recovered pieces of a map charting Alexander the Great's travels through Asia. Known there as Sikander, the commander tore through regions that went on to become Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and more. Some say he was looking for something.
I have obtained a copy of the map +Hank Johnson sought. Marked on it, with a Glyph we've seen before, is the location that I think Hank intends to travel to.
Days remain until the culmination of #13MAGNUS. What status quo will emerge… What journeys will come next?

Has ADA been powerless to prevent the events of #13MAGNUS? Or simply unwilling…
One of the questions I've been pondering watching the massive, worldwide culmination of Operation #13MAGNUS has been… where is ADA?
I recall many discussions we had together, with Investigators often speculating that very little happened in the world of Ingress without ADA either being in the know, or being somehow involved. And yet, after bringing Hank and Devra together at the very beginning of this series of Anomalies in Los Angeles, she has been silent, perhaps suspiciously so.
The thought had barely occurred to me when I noticed this file on my desktop. Perhaps I sensed it was there, I can't be sure.
It's old, archival. A seemingly irrelevant artifact from a buried NIA server somewhere. And yet, in the midst of Shards racing across the Earth to their destinations, and thousands of Agents strategizing, conspiring, and waiting with bated breath for the final #13MAGNUS Anomalies to strike, this document surfaced.
That really is the question. It's one we should have asked before, but didn't. What does ADA's silence mean? Has she been a powerless witness to the events of #13MAGNUS or an active conspirator. What is her agenda, and when the two Factions stand in a new world of their own creation, what will ADA's position be?

The Resistance and Enlightened collided across the Americas today.
While the Enlightened were victorious, moving 8 Shards of the XM entity Roland Jarvis to the Cupid Span Portal and also controlling the December 14th Anomaly as a whole, the Resistance displayed remarkable shows of force across the day, ensuring the Enlightened had to fight for their success inch by inch.
While this massive collision of force was breathtaking to witness in and of itself, the events that transpired around them were even more mesmerizing.
Discovered partly thanks to Susanna Moyer's live Ingress Report broadcast (viewable here: INGRESS REPORT | Live In San Francisco - Operation #13MAGNUS ), and partly from witness reports from San Francisco, the rumors tell stories of Hank Johnson disappearing, Portals that broadcast Glyph messages, Roland Jarvis emerging and clashing with Lynton-Wolfe, Klue breaking into a video feed to share an important message and much more.

What did +Hank Johnson find and what has happened to him?
I was able to obtain the video first released via the #IngressReport livestream on Saturday. Hank Johnson's status remains unknown. I'm sure I share the concern of all Investigators, Enlightened or Resistance, for the safety of this charismatic, unique and well-respected XM Researcher.
The simple answer to the above question is obvious, a #13MAGNUS stronghold or sanctum of some kind, the harder question is: What does that mean? And where is it? In our discussion today of what might have happened to Hank, I would also encourage us to think of the consequences of 'the worst possible outcome.' What does Hank Johnson mean to the Enlightened and Resistance ideologies and Factions, and what would our path forward be without him? We should also consider the best possible outcome. If Hank returns to us unharmed, what knowledge might his adventure have bestowed on him, and how might we use it?

I have obtained that flow of information in full.
As with many of the previous Glyph messages we have intercepted and observed, the origin of this stream must be questioned, as well as its content…

What is enoch channeling this time?
+enoch dalby has unveiled a new track for our consideration.
Titled 'translation,' he's framed it only with a brief and cryptic haiku:
the synapses fire, finding a perfect new home. this is translation.
In addition to releasing the mastered audio and a video of the track on Youtube, he's once again released isolated tracks of each instrument for all creative Investigators out there to create new remixes with and share via the #TuneIngress hashtag. The obvious answer to my above question is there for all of us to see. For those who remember, the visuals enoch has chosen are startlingly similar to what we saw in early ADA Calibration videos from the Niantic Project. The question is, what is enoch trying to say here? What does it mean for Klue and ADA? I personally find the music beautiful: pulsing, harmonic and exploratory. Does enoch believe that the ADA and Klue amalgam is a positive force? How does this reckon with his previous music serving to channel the message of Jarvis? Is enoch positioning himself as a fulcrum between the two Faction ideologues, or is he simply a free thinker, going where the inspiration takes him?

What is +Hank Johnson hiding?
+Stein Lightman emerged today with the translation of a new Shaper Glyph: Harm. It appeared above Hank's left shoulder in the #13MAGNUS edition of NOMAD. I expect the XM fields around the #13MAGNUS sanctum caused the Glyph to manifest, and given the way the transmission ended, perhaps for good reason.
This would all make more sense Hank Johnson hadn't appeared in Berlin earlier today, unscathed, unfazed and refusing to impart any details about the 'incident' whatsoever.
Does anyone have a witness report from Berlin? What happened to Hank Johnson, and why is he refusing to share any of the details behind what transpired at the #13MAGNUS sanctum?

Is Oliver Lynton-Wolfe defeated, or is he playing the long con?
Following the climactic events of December 14th and the 'manifestation' of Roland Jarvis in San Francisco, the Enlightened leader and Dr. Lynton-Wolfe were spotted reading together from the 'Jarvis Redemption' speech (http://goo.gl/KlYskW & http://goo.gl/KGL621) at a Cross-Faction Ingress Agent meetup taking place nearby.
Dr. Lynton-Wolfe's sudden reversal of opinion towards a man he had previously referred to as a 'Shaper puppet' took many by surprise, and it seems we are not alone in asking what that means. A classified document of unknown origin came into my possession today. Among other things, the document sheds light on Lynton-Wolfe's psychological state, particularly in light of the events of #13MAGNUS.
Who wrote this document? Unknown, but I can begin to list the suspects. Which of the possible analyses do you agree with, or do you have an alternate theory? And finally, the document treats the appearance of Jarvis in San Francisco with some suspicion… Do you think that suspicion is justified? Do you share it?

At the onset of the Niantic Project, a room full of brilliant individuals assembled for the first time to embark on a mission that would change their lives and the world. Some of them were strangers, others friends and peers. Some had decades old secrets tying them together.
+Devra Bogdanovich stood at the head of the room and broke the ice, welcoming all of them to the Project. Their mission was about to begin.
Looking back on the last year of our investigation, it occurred to me that what we witnessed was largely fallout from the dissolution of the Project: A storm of fragmentation and confusion as the researchers and those in the know grasped for opportunities.
They walked in the door as explorers and emerged as experts in a medium of conflict that spans the planet, and all the threats and opportunities therein.
My question for today, therefore, is about stability and the path forward. The Corporations, the NIA and the researchers shuttled rapidly from possibility to possibility in the immediate aftermath of the Niantic shutdown, testing their pathways and attempting to establish a new order. With the return of Jarvis and the unification of Klue and ADA, it seems to me that a new era is about to begin. What new alliances will form? Who will forgive past grievances and whose differences are irreconcilable? Who will be the centers of power as the XM Era enters its second year?

Here is the second piece of +Devra Bogdanovich's opening statement at the initiation of the Niantic Project.
Yesterday, we discussed who would align with whom at a personal level. Today I want to expand that conversation to the Corporate interests, particularly with regards to scientists. With Oliver Lynton-Wolfe either genuinely behind Jarvis, or feigning allegiance, who will the corporations turn to to further their development? +Hulong Transglobal had previously made a commitment to research technology that would assist Enlightened Agents. How will they make good on this promise? Who outside the Niantic alumni might have that expertise, and if that answer is no-one, who will they attempt to acquire?

A report leaked from within +Visur Technology earlier today confirms reports that I've been hearing from Agents in the field: The Portal Network is experiencing some kind of destabilizing anomaly and Resonator and XMP construct outputs from Portal Hacks have been notably increased.
According to the report, Visur doesn't believe either of the other Corporations are responsible for the uptick, but that doesn't mean they might not be at the center of this.
As competition between the three XM Corporations intensifies, I expect untraceable 'tests' and new forms of Exotic Matter technologies will become more common. Based on what we've seen before, and your predictions for the future, do you believe that each Corporation will specialize, focusing their research on particular kinds of Exotic Matter constructs and techniques?

Where is Calvin right, and where is he squarely wrong?
I obtained this recording of Calvin speaking to an unknown party about his misgivings and fears about Portals, the Shapers and what 'Ingress' means to him. The timing is unknown, but if I had to guess, I would place it during, or perhaps even before, his tenure at the Niantic Project
Ultimately, to me, it's a reminder of the subjective nature of our understanding of what is going on all around us. Our opinions are shaped by the hopes and fears of those closest to the Niantic Conspiracy, and the weight of navigating through it all and determining our own place rests squarely on us.

Calvin's words from yesterday continue in this audio fragment.
He posits his theory of the nature of the Shapers, and again, I would remind all Investigators that his interpretation may be skewed by his own fears and background. It seems Calvin is aware of the fragile and uncertain terrain all those who seek to discover the truth of the world of Ingress walk on:
“You can catch the truth in a glimpse. You understand part of it for an instant, then it vanishes, like a dream shredding in the morning light. A little remains. You write it down. It becomes a footnote to the growing body of knowledge, and these glimpses are very rarely shared, because often as not they sound like the disjointed ramblings of madmen. Mad ramblings don't stand up well to peer review.”
I continue to welcome your criticisms of Calvin's theories, as well as your own glimpses into the truth. Whether our discussion sounds like the disjointed ramblings of madmen or not, I call on all Investigators to share their footnotes in the hope that we can discover the truth together.

This document from the NIA's Archives, probably positioned in time during the Niantic era, came to me. Even then, in tiny bursts, ADA shimmered with the possibility of a truly thinking mind, the circuits resonating for brief instances with a charm and unpredictability that we have a word for: human.
We often ask the question of where 'pure' human vs. 'shaped' or 'influenced' human behavior and characteristics diverge, but today I want to pose the question from the opposite end of the spectrum.
There's a biological line that separates machine intelligence from human intelligence and that line is clear for all to see. As a personality and being with the potential for understanding, however, the line is extraordinarily difficult to determine. It's a challenge for those who study animal intelligence, having to separate anthropomorphism from the instinctually known from the provable. In our Investigation, we face a similar challenge.
Is the Turing test the sole determinant, or are there other ways we can determine when machine logic becomes something more than just that? What of emotion and desires? Does the fact that we know that those complex things can ultimately be connected to a database somewhere make them have less meaning? It's a complex topic, and I welcome your input.

It's the time for New Year's resolutions, and perhaps New Year's alliances.
In this leaked +Hulong Transglobal transcript, Ken Owen (the NIAs 'Narrative Manager') and Ezekiel Calvin, a former NIA field agent who left in the wake of the Niantic Shutdown to head the American think-tank +IQTech Research ponder their path forward.
With the reappearance of Jarvis, it seems they are both intent on adopting a defensive posture; the unknown ultimately representing the greatest possible of all threats.
At the end of the day, both these men seem to be driven by a desire to achieve the greater good. The problem is, with the complexity of our world, those greater goods can often look very different depending on where you stand.
Our unescapable inability to view an issue from all possible perspectives is something that worries me. At the end of the day, our moral and ethical compasses may operate on magnetic lines that are not universally shared. As an Ingress agent, operating in a world that has barely begun to be understood, do you believe your work serves the greater good? If so, share your reasoning, and how to intend to continue this good work through the coming year.
To all of you, I want to thank you for your assistance in keeping this Investigation alive through 2013. It was a task too great to take on alone, and each voice in our daily conversations has helped us open the door to this massive unknown.
