Anyone who's been following recent developments knows that Carrie Campbell sent Hank Johnson on a glyph hunt at a major anomaly at the Robert E. Howard Museum in Cross Plains, Texas this week, 77 years after REH's suicide.

If you don't know about Howard, look it up, will be important. Get in touch with your inner HPL while you're at it. Right now, the important thing is to take a look at HJ's post. He's on the run… hunted. Possibly by the same people who were after him in Africa. I think he's looking for the San Saba mines, but not for the reason you might think.

This leaked NIA memo sheds light on the Portal Mods emerging from the competing XM tech corporations, IQTech, Visur and Hulong Transglobal, but it also provides us with an update on some people we've been keeping track of.

Dr. Devra Bogdanovich, of course, is now working with Visur, headed by the Russian billionaire businessman Ilya Pevtsov. Read Felicia's novel for a better understanding of how that relationship came to be.

Dr. Oliver Lynton-Wolfe, Devra's old nemesis and the first true XM tech pioneer at the Niantic Facility in Geneva, is now operating under IQTech, the private US-based contractor run by Dr. Ezekiel Calvin, former lead of the Niantic Project.

We still don't know who exactly the scientific talent behind the Chinese mega-corporation Hulong Transglobal's XM labs are, but their foray into the Congo chasing Hank Johnson (read Alignment:Ingress by Thomas Greanias for those details) assured them an early lead in Dark XM research.

The final piece of info, suspected but never confirmed, is that the brutal, cold, dangerous former head of Niantic Security, Jay Phillips, has taken over Yuen Ni's position as head of the NIA. Last seen being given carte-blanche to clean up the leaks and chaos surround Niantic, it seems he has maneuvered that opportunity to the top of the shadowy intelligence agency.

Two days ago, Hank uploaded Robert's letter about going to the San Saba mine. Today, Lovecraft responds with a cryptic warning. More glyphs and more warnings. We first heard about these from Klue, Misty passed her something at the Magic Castle and warned her not to look at them in sequence.

Klue reached out to Carrie Campbell, who also seemed shaken by what she read. Her work at Niantic involved symbols as well, a piece of research dismissed by the NIA as 'an art project.'

A series of cryptic, encoded communications between Hank and Carrie revealed that they were both on the trail of a hidden mine, possible the San Saba mines, and that their real target was not a payload of silver, but something of far greater power and value.

I'm still trying to figure out how all this connects to Greenwich Park and London.

In the past, we have seen the effects of Exotic Matter Anomalies on living people – Hank Johnson at Cahokia (read The Alignment: Ingress for those details), Klue in Scotland and Ben Jackland at Operation: Bowstring, among others.

Now, I suspect that we are seeing the result of a faction battle on a person who has been dead for seventy-seven years. Unless I am very wrong, Robert E. Howard is Enlightened.

While at Cross Plains, Hank Johnson was seen with a camera operator interviewing agents and recording his impressions about the Robert E. Howard museum and the strange white glyph that appeared near there. Despite Nomad's difficulties, it seems Hank remains committed to discovering and sharing the truth behind Exotic Matter and its role in human history.

Rumor has it, after shooting for about a day, he left his camera operator behind and went solo into the Chihuahuan Desert, possibly searching for a lost mine guided by a series of previously undiscovered letters. According to his Google+ posts, he wasn't alone, and the people following him out there were armed and dangerous.

Now, Carrie Campbell has uploaded what I believe is the first of a series of self-shot videos, apparently retrieved by a friend of Hank's via a dead-dropped memory card. They shed more light on Hank's journey into the desert and his hunt for the mine.

From what I can tell, the mines Robert E. Howard was attempting to find are these same hidden mines. Hank Johnson is now on that same trail as well.

Another video from the memory card that Hank Johnson arranged to be delivered to Carrie Campbell. Given Visur's interest in the London Anomaly, and the increasing importance attached to the symbols that Hank is on the trail of, I wouldn't be surprised if the PMC operatives tracking Hank were Visur operatives.

So, here's my read: If Visur is trying to track and intercept Hank, and Hank's on the trail of the symbols, my guess is that all three corporations are probably trying to get their hands on them. But why?

How does a series of glyphs in a mine that time forgot help a company like Visur, Hulong or IQTech win an XM arms race? The answer? Not sure, but I'm open to hear your ideas.

According to Carrie Campbell, this video of Hank Johnson fleeing from unknown pursuers is the last video that was recovered from the memory card he arranged to be delivered to her. Hank Johnson's current status is unknown.

According to her most recent Google+ post, Carrie indicates that Hank intended to transport a package containing his findings from the secret mine (believed to be the mythological San Saba Mines) to her at Operation TimeZero. As best as I can gather, those findings are expected to be some form of advanced writing or symbols preserved as petrographs within the mine, artifacts of a historical civilization native to the area.

A letter (1,2) from Jim Bowie describing the mine in greater detail was surfaced by Thomas Greanias yesterday.

It remains to be seen if this package of Hank's findings, clearly an item of great value, will be uncovered at #timezero tomorrow.

An exciting day so far.

At Operation #TimeZero, the Enlightened utilized dominance over distant portals while keeping a tight grip on Greenwich Park to claim the day, but the Resistance put up a hell of a fight.

Amidst all the chaos, a courier was spotted attempting to deliver a package to Carrie Campbell. The package is believed to contain photographs Hank Johnson took at the San Saba mine.

An Enlightened agent was tasked with completing the delivery to Carrie after the courier was spotted, but Carrie, perhaps not knowing who to trust, fled the scene, leaving the package with the Enlightened agent.

Now, all three XM corporations, Visur, IQTech and Hulong Transglobal are breaking a long span of public silence by offering bounties for a glimpse at the photographs.

I'll be curious to see how this plays out in the days to come.

Hardball.

After receiving the #timezero package (1,2) on behalf of the Enlightened, Agent Richard Walden uploaded this video, with claims that he has destroyed it in order to prevent it from falling into the hands of the three XM corporations currently competing for control of its contents: Visur, IQTech and Hulong Transglobal.

If true, it's a bold move, and one with unknown consequences. From what I can gather, the package contained some kind of visual evidence of symbols, glyphs with great power, that were recovered by Hank Johnson from a mine (1,2) near the Texas/Mexico border. If the lost letters Hank recovered are to be believed, the glyphs may indeed have had influence on those who saw them.

A series of videos uploaded by Carrie Campbell showed Hank on the run during his journey to retrieve these symbols, being chased by Private Military Special Ops, possibly operatives from Visur, Hulong, IQTech, or all three.

Here is the list of questions running through my mind:

Did Richard Walden actually destroy the package? Or is this leverage… Does Hank Johnson have a backup of the contents? Does another copy exist? Was the courier who transported the package from Paris to London clean, or was she a double agent for someone? If so, who? Do they have a copy of the contents? Last we heard of Carrie Campbell, she fled from the package handoff at #TimeZero. Why couldn't she take it? Was she being followed? Is she safe?

It's been a strange week, that's for sure.

Since my previous update, Agent Richard Walden and some of his Enlightened comrades uploaded a video revealing that the #timezero package was indeed not destroyed, and if recent updates are to be believed, all three XM development companies (Visur, IQTech and Hulong) have reached out to the agents to query them on their openness to trading the contents of Hank Johnson's cache of images from the San Saba mine (1,2).

The video I received today was edited and uploaded by Hank's camera operator from Cross Plains. According to him, they were scheduled to remain there and cover the #ingressdays anomaly, but upon discovering the large white symbol on the ground there, Hank became agitated and left.

The camera operator waited for him to return, but he never did. The only time we've heard from him since was in a series of videos uploaded by Carrie Campbell, although he was last believed to be in Paris, where he handed the #timezero package to a courier to bring into London.

Today, Hulong Transglobal reached out to the entire Enlightened faction, calling on them to urge Agent Richard Walden to provide them the images from the #timezero package.

In exchange, they've offered to 'realign their vision' to match the values of the Enlightened, whatever that means…

Earlier today, Visur offered a public bounty to any Enlightened who can provide them with a copy of the images.

IQTech has remained silent about their next move…

Thanks to whoever sent this, we bailed out of Mirror Lake just in time. Klue is en-route to Portland, said 'something incredibly important' had come up, and she needed to get there by Sunday. Obviously, we have to be careful about how and when we communicate. Please update me with any relevant information.

From what I can tell, the negotiations between the corporations, Hulong Transglobal, Visur, IQTech, and the Enlightened agents controlling the #timezero package seem to have reached a stalemate.

IQTech, since my last update, appears to have reached out to a few individual agents with offers to turn on their faction-mates. Don't think that went the way they wanted it to.

Hulong Transglobal's XM Labs have been able to work out some of the details regarding the upcoming anomaly in Portland, Oregon. The anomaly will be measured three times, at Noon, 1PM and 2PM local time on Sunday, June 30th. See their document for further details.

According to +Ingress, a cross faction meetup is scheduled to take place at Ground Kontrol, a nearby arcade, after the anomaly ends.

Klue's been deep in thought. A post on her Google+ page begins to articulate her feelings heading into the Portland anomaly.

It all started back with Misty Hannah at the Magic Castle. I was there when Misty handed Klue a set of cards with some scrawled shapes upon them. Although I didn't realize it at the time, the world had changed. A new power, something ancient and potent and deeply desirable to some had come to the surface.

Tomorrow, the factions meet in Portland. Klue has placed herself at the center of their conflict, her alignment a small price to pay in the greater shifts of power.

As she and all the other Ingress Agents prepare to head into the field tomorrow, she left a note on her Google + page: “No matter what happens, it is essential that the corporations: Hulong Transglobal, IQTech Research and Visur Technology not gain control of the Glyphs.”

Perhaps that's the war we've been fighting all along…
